Fence Maintenance
We encourage all homeowners to do their part to repair and maintain their fences – both the community facing side as well as the homeowner’s side. Below is all the information needed to maintain your fence to match the other fences within our community.
Wooden Fences
Wooden fences (lattice or screen style), regardless of who built them, found within or adjacent to your property are your responsibility to stain and maintain as detailed in the restrictive covenants registered on the title of your property. Cloverdale Paint, located at 1935 37 Street SW (403.242.7700), has the fence stain colours on file. Most fences are stained Springside Taupe, but some fences are more green – Green Tea (CA167) is the best match for these fences. Cloverdale Paint on 37th Street SW has both colours are on file under the Wentworth Residents’ Association file. Be sure to mention the Association to receive their group discount.
Note: there is a wood fence that borders the wooded/natural located south of 9th Avenue between Wentworth Rise and 89th Street SW that is the responsibility of the Association. The Association had this fence replaced in its entirety in the spring of 2019.
Cloverdale has fence stain options available to meet all budgets: Covercoat – Weatherone Exterior (good option), Guardian Exterior (better option) and SharkSkin Exterior (best option).
Stone Walls and Fences
The stone walls that are located on the east and north perimeters of the community (along 85th Street as well as Old Banff Coach Road SW) are the responsibility of the Wentworth Residents’ Association. These walls had some masonry repairs done in 2022 and the black metal was painted in 2023.
There are two sections of fence (stone pillars with horizontal metal railings) located on both sides of Wentworth Drive (adjacent to the ravine/pathway). These two sections are also the responsibility of the Association. Masonry repairs were completed in 2014 and the black metal horizontal railings were painted in 2022.
