About mywentworth

The Wentworth Residents' Association was formed in 2005 with the objective of ensuring the betterment of Wentworth through the management of neighbourhood enhancements such as flowerbeds, entrance treatments, and extra landscaping and maintenance of city boulevards, medians and parks.

Who’s responsibility is the pond in Wentworth. It looks horrible right now and I was wondering who is responsible for it and how can we fix it.

  2. Greg says:

The pond is the responsibility of the city of Calgary. Suggest calling 311 to inquire if anything can be done.

Is tere any way to get out of the Restrictive Covenants and the payments to the Residents’ Association? I would love to buy a home there, but would not even consider it if I was forced to pay basically condo fees, and live in a facist state where I’m told what to do. The Resident’s association needs to but out of people’s business. I’ve read LOTS about various resident’s associatins around north america, and the gyst of it is is that they are pure evil. Stay away people until they go away!

In light of the comments put forth by “Saddened”, I wish to be put on record that not all residents in this community share the same. However, I do encourage you to find the community that suits your liking but for those, like me, that support these proactive meaures, I will stay.
      Greg, well written!
      Regards,

Suggesting that all Residents’ Associations result in communities becoming fascist (or “facist” as you put it) states barely justifies a response… But anyway….

Ensuring that some landscaping, flowers and shrubs, extra maintenance as required, and reserve funds are available to repair and maintain common property, like the nice fences this community has, is essential. The city will not pay for any of these things. This is a high-value community and it would be irresponsible not take care of it.

$200 per year (about $17 per month) to ensure this happens, seems like a great investment to me.

The Association is governed by residents, so if they are unhappy they are free to join the Board and make any changes they see fit.

    Hello
Does every owner pay the full community fee for the year regardless of when they took possession of their property during the year?
    Cheers

      Greg,
It appears I have missed a payment. Do you have a statement for each residence? I see my invoice in the mail today and it did not reflect a recent payment from the beginning of the month.

      Please advise.
      Thanks,
      Geoff
